I have a new crochet pattern coming soon: The Secret Agent Doll Clothes crochet pattern!
"This is Monocle Joe. He's a slick, gentlebear from the old days. Solving mysteries is his main pass time, and as seen in the picture above, he likes to tap his left foot to give a cool-cat impression to his peers." (Quoted from one of his peers).
Monocle Joe is sporting his new trench coat and fedora, made with medium weight yarn and styled in the fashion of the 50's. His coat has a crocheted tie strap and two convenient pockets for carrying evidence. The collar is turned up in the back and shaped to form sharp lapels. The piece itself is worked top down, a simple and easy method in crocheting.
His fedora is made from the same yarn weight and crocheted in one piece. The brim is turned up in the back and down in the front, and along with the crease in the top, creates the perfect vintage ambiance.
I created this pattern for just this purpose, my sisters stuffed bear. The pattern creates a coat that is 7 1/2 inches long with a 12 inch waist, and 6 inch opening at the sleeve (the fedora is 13 1/2 inches in circumference).
Look for the free pattern right here on Ginger Peachy soon! I will also be offering a PDF version for a small price.
In the meantime, since autumn has finally arrived, I want to share with you a list of the season inspired patterns I have made so far. Most of them are free but there are a few that are store patterns only. All of which can be found at Crochet Spot.
Fern Leaf applique -- I really love how easy these are to work up. I will have to use them for something this year.
Autumn Leaf Earrings -- I can't wait to wear these every year. In fact, I'm sure I wear them more than just in the fall. A little one asked me the other day what they were and I told her they were different kinds of leaves. She wasn't all that impressed and instead gave me her idea of what they should be. Children!
Pumpkin and Acorn appliques -- I will be using these in a mixed medium project of which I will share the details to before too long.
Scarecrow Hat in 5 sizes -- This will make a great addition to a Halloween costume. I'd like to see a few more country scarecrows this year.
Autumn Harvest Scarf -- Even now I really love how this scarf drapes. And the colors are beautiful! I have a skein of another of Lion Brand yarn that I hope to use in making an equally lovely scarf or cowl with this season.
Isn't it obvious that I really love fall? Take a look at these patterns and let me know what you think! And don't forget to come back for the Secret Agent Doll Clothes crochet pattern!
